Qld coal boom 'to continue' for some time

mining industry group says a global economic slowdown looks unlikely to put the brakes on the Queensland coal boom.
The Australian Coal Preparation Society is meeting in Emerald this week to discuss the future of the coal industry.
The society's Eugene Gallagher says there is still strong demand from China and India.
"We've seen the expansions in the past and it's usually global slowdowns that cause them to some normal level of operation," Dr Gallagher said.
"But I think this time, there'll be some constraints that will affect it but I think it's going to continue for quite a bit longer than past booms have."
