Petrobras says Brazil June oil output dips 3.2 pct

18-07-2009

SAO PAULO, July 17 (Reuters) - Brazil's state-run oil company Petrobras (PETR4.SA)(PBR.N) said late on Friday domestic oil production dropped 3.2 percent in June to 1.93 million barrels per day from 1.99 million bpd in May.

Petrobras said in a statement it ceased production at the FPSO-Capixaba floating unit in the Golfinho field in Espirito Santo basin and made planned stoppages at the P-37 and P-40 platforms, causing the output drop.

Production outside Brazil rose by 10,000 bpd to 146,300 bpd from the previous month, taking Petrobras' total production in June, including natural gas liquids, to 2.07 million bpd.

Petrobras plans to invest $174 billion though 2013 as part of broad plan including development of the massive Tupi field and other subsalt discoveries from the little-explored Santos Basin, south of the Campos Basin where most of Brazil's oil is currently pumped.
