And did you know that more than 30% of an average household bin can be composted at home?
Transport: You could make significant financial savings by considering ways of reducing the amount of fuel you use. Check your tyre pressure once a week and reduce drag by removing unnecessary roof racks, bike carriers and roof boxes as they effect aerodynamics and fuel efficiency.
Water: Each person in Wales currently uses about 150 litres of water every day, and much of this is wasted. Opt for a short refreshing shower instead of a bath and you could save up to £15 a year on your energy bill.
Switching off: Households in Wales are estimated to spend around 8% of their electricity bill just powering gadgets and appliances in standby. Not leaving products on standby could save you around £33 per year.
Recycling: Keep it simple by positioning your recycling bin next to your main bin so you can take your rubbish and recycling out at the same time. Remember to recycle from all your bins, not just your kitchen.
