The adoption of environmentally friendly practices by large enterprises is a positive development, according to a spokesperson for therenewableenergycentre.co.uk.
"The adoption of green business systems, technology and products by the some of the world's largest manufacturers is a very positive step forwards," the spokesperson added.
The representative of therenewableenergycentre.co.uk also said that it is not simply about changing energy sources or recycling waste, but about making sure that business, as well as the people in it, embrace "the bigger picture of climate change and what they can do individually to help reduce the effects of it".
The comments emerged as tech giant Panasonic Group announced a commitment to green technology.
The company said it plans to reduce its carbon footprint and innovate in the green sector through to the company's 100th anniversary in 2018.
By 2018 it plans to cut carbon emissions by 50 per cent on 2006 levels and maximise its ratio of used resources to total resources.
